You may request a transcript of your grades from the Registrar. Students transferring to universities anywhere in the world will provide this transcript either directly to the university (in the case of U.S. citizens) or to the appropriate ministry to request equivalency in their home country.

What is a Certificate?

The diploma conferred at graduation has university-level validity in the U.S. It is called a Certificate. A Certificate from The Florence Academy of Art demonstrates that you have completed a university level academic program in a particular field, either Painting or Sculpture, and the course of study has met the standards of academic approval set by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

How do students use the Certificate?

A Certificate may be used by a a student as credit towards an undergraduate degree, or by a graduate as added proof of expertise. Students interested in pursuing a degree like a BA or BFA must return to a terminal degree-granting institution and complete that institution’s general education and/or residency requirements.

Non-U.S. students may transfer their U.S. university credits or Certificate to a foreign country by requesting that country to recognize the Certificate and grant equivalency. Non-U.S. students must go through a national procedure to have their diploma recognized by their home country.
